The publication guests read from during the luncheon
A luncheon held during the final review for the Level 6 Publishing Strand at Kingston School of Art. We began by pouring ice-cold glasses of non-alcoholic lager, while copies of selected stories and recipes from Two Dozen Eggs by Hugh Cocoran were passed around the table.
We opened with a collective reading of Hunger Part II, each person taking turns to read a paragraph aloud, allowing the text to move through the room in a shared voice.
Afterwards, we gathered over bowls of traditional Irish soup, eaten alongside slices of sourdough bread and cultured butter.
Following the meal, we read The Tide, a Bar on a Saturday Afternoon, accompanied by servings of blackberry and apple pie with whipped cream—bringing the experience to a close through both story and taste
