Guests were welcomed with readings from Pies, Pâtés, and Pastries: Secrets Old and New of the Art of Cooking, exploring medieval traditions of creating elaborate pie displays that concealed people or surprises inside.

We then shared a chicken, leek, and potato pie, continuing the conversation around spectacle, illusion, and the history of pies.
