Friends Who Ferment is a project by artist Inês Neto dos Santos published in MOLD Magazine. The work explores fermentation as a shared cultural practice, bringing together pieces of dried starter cultures sent by friends and collaborators and assembling them into a quilt-like artwork. Through this collective gesture, the project reflects on how fermented cultures—both microbial and social—travel with people across borders, carrying traditions, care, and sustenance.
